- Electricity
- Your rent includes the cost of the electricity used.
Night storage heaters charge up between 12 midnight and 7a.m. to discharge the heat the following day/evening.
- Dustbins
- The bins are to be found as you go out of the forecourt on the right hand side.
- Telephone
- There is a public telephone kiosk (coin operated, not card) in the village of Pentrecagal. Turn right at the end of the drive, go through the village and the 'phone is some thirty yards past the bend on the right-hand side.
For those with mobile phones, a good signal is available on the orange network at Dôl-Haidd Isaf.
- Public Transport
- The bus service from Carmarthen to Cardigan passes through the village of Pentrecagal. There is a bus approximately every two hours, and it takes about ¾ hour to reach either Cardigan or Carmarthen. The route taken from Carmarthen varies , and there is one bus each day which DOES NOT PASS THROUGH PENTRECAGAL but goes directly from Newcastle Emlyn to Llandysul by another road. Be careful that the returning bus will bring you back to Pentrecagal.
- Doctors
- In case of need, contact the Emlyn Surgery (01239 710479), Adpar, Newcastle Emlyn. Turn right at the end of the drive and go along towards Newcastle Emlyn, turn right into the town centre (by the Vauxhall Cawdor Garage) and go all the way through the main high street, over the bridge and take the first turning left signposted Aberporth. The surgery is approximately 100 yards along this road on the left.
- Hospitals
- West Wales General Hospital, Glangwili, Carmarthen, telephone 01267 235151. They offer full accident and emergency services. Take the A484 to Carmarthen (turn left at the end of our drive) and after 16½ miles from Dôl-Haidd Isaf, take the first left exit from the roundabout onto the A485 in the direction of Lampeter. The Hospital entrance is only 150 yards on the right from this roundabout.
- Cardigan Memorial Hospital, telephone 01239 612209 offers limited emergency
cover provided by local doctors. Take the A484 (turn right at the end of our
drive) to Cardigan. After approximately 12 miles take the second turning out
from the Cardigan by-pass roundabout (towards the town centre) and the hospital
entrance is less than 100 yards on the left along this road.
- Provisions
- There is a general store/off licence selling milk and newspapers at the Texaco
garage. Turn right at the end of our drive and go along for about ¾ mile..
The garage is on the right hand side in Pentrecagal and is open from 7.00am
to 9.00pm, seven days a week.
2-miles from Dôl-Haidd Isaf, in the same direction, is CK's Supermarket on the left hand side of the road, which bakes fresh bread 7 days a week.
Newcastle Emlyn itself has two small supermarkets, newsagents, banks, Post Office, Tourist Information Office, Pat's Pantry, Teifi Tea Rooms, antique shops etc, etc.
